The shear pin connects the clearing worm to the drive shaft. If the clearing worm gets blocked unintentionally, it functions as a planned break point. After the pin breaks, the clearing worm is no longer being powered and thus damage to the rotating parts is prevented. After the pin is replaced, the snowblower is ready to run again quickly, with a few, easy steps. This increases the service life of the machine; maintenance and repair costs are considerably reduced.
